​During the process of envisioning and conceptualizing California Dream Sailing, JR had the great fortune of living next door to Gino Morrelli, the highly-regarded catamaran designer behind the Morrelli & Melvin design and engineering firm. After learning about JR's goal to bring a wheelchair-accessible catamaran to Southern California, Gino did not hesitate in offering both M&M’s design services and their invaluable expertise in U.S. Coast Guard Certification (a necessary requirement for boats intending to take passengers on trips out on the ocean). California Dream Sailing is thrilled to have Morrelli & Melvin as their first donor, and are looking forward to what is sure to be an innovative, cutting-edge wheelchair-accessible catamaran design.
